Love Island star Haris Namani has spoken out for the first time since being dumped from the ITV2 South African villa this week.
The 21-year-old TV salesman became the latest slander to be booted off the show, after David Salako left last week, and discussed the shocking viral video involving himself and another man in his exit interview.
Haris' exit comes after a video emerged appearing to show the ITV star in an ugly street brawl, which shows him appear to land a punch on the unnamed man as they face off in the street.
ITV have yet to comment on the scenes, but a source close to the show says bosses were 'relieved' Haris lost the public vote and has now exited the villa.
Taking to ITV2 about the video in an exit interview, Haris said: I’m devastated that this video has been seen, it’s not a reflection of my character. I’m not someone that goes looking for fights and I didn’t want to be in that situation. This was a heat of the moment thing.
"The video doesn’t show everything that happened. Afterwards we met up and we cleared the air; we’ve shaken hands and we get along now. It’s not something that would happen again."
The results of the public vote were revealed to the contestants on Monday, with Haris becoming the latest star to leave after he expressed interest in a number of women in the villa and even locked horns with Shaq Muhammad.
Love Island exploded into a dramatic row between the pair last week, following a salacious game of beer pong.
David, who arrived as a bombshell with Zara Lackenby-Brown, was challenged to kiss the woman he fancied the most in the villa and made a beeline for Tanya Manhenga, Shaq’s current partner.
Following the game, the boys gathered in the garden where Haris, 21, commented on David’s kiss with Tanya, prompting Shaq to label him a “s*** stirrer”.
The airport security officer added: "You’re so annoying bro. You do this all the time.”
Haris then told Shaq “shut the f*** up”, to which he responded: “You shut the f*** up, you f**ing pr***”.
The pair proceeded to stand up and shout at each other, leading other contestants to step and try and calm the situation.
A show spokesperson told The Mirror: "We would never comment on dumpings or show formats to avoid ruining the show for the viewers."
21-year-old Haris is a TV salesman from Doncaster and he hoped he might be able to find the one this winter after heading to South Africa to find love.
Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
