Love Island's Gemma Owen grosses out fans by with bad habit as Indiyah Polack farts

Love Island viewers were left baffled by Gemma Owen's reaction when her fellow Islander Indiyah Polack farted.

The girls were getting ready for their evening when the waitress from London admitted to farting, with Tasha exclaiming "that stinks" and other girls also appeared to be in shock.

Gemma then said, "I can't smell it wait," and walked towards Indiyah, 23, with the guilty culprit asking in disbelief: "Why do you want to smell it?"

Michael Owen's daughter Gemma, 19, then wafted her hands as if she was trying to smell the unpleasant odour.

Many viewers were taken aback by Gemma's habit, and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person said: "Gemma is so funny w the girl why she wanted to smell Indiyah's fart."

Another, referencing Gemma's dressage career and her many horses, wrote: "Why's Gemma wafting the air to sniff Indiyah's fart, is this what she does with her horses too."

A third person quipped: "Not Gemma approaching Indiyah to smell her fart."

A fourth said of the 19-year-old: "Gemma sniffing the fart was the most age appropriate thing she's done."

Some Love Island fans even drew comparison to the moment in the dressing room with Gemma's final date with Luca in the same episode.

One person joked: "Indiyah's fart was more exciting than Gemma and Luca's date."

A second quipped on Twitter: "Gemma had more energy for Indiyah's fart than her date with Luca."

Later on in the episode things turned serious, as the remaining five pairs were told that they had to decide who they think are the two least compatible couples.

Following final dates, Indiyah received an explosive text message which she read out to the rest of the group.

The Islanders looked shocked as they learned they had to vote for who they thought were the two least compatible couples.

Davide and Ekin-Su, Andrew and Tasha, Luca and Gemma, Dami and Indiyah and Adam and Paige had to deliberate in their couples and submit their decisions by text without discussing it with the other pairings.

Turns out, Indiyah and Dami are the only safe couple as they didn't receive one single vote from any of the other Islanders.

Instead, Davide and Ekin-Su received the most – a total of four, as everyone else claimed they are the least compatible.

Gemma and Luca received a total of three votes as Davide, Ekin-Su, Paige, Adam, Indiyah and Dami all voted for them.

Tasha and Andrew received just one vote, courtesy of Gemma and Luca, and Paige and Adam received a couple of votes, too.

Therefore, all four couples face being sent home just days before the final – whereas Dami and Indiyah have sailed through and have a chance of winning the £50,000 prize money.

At the end of Friday's episode, voiceover Iain Stirling informed viewers that they had just 15 minutes to save their favourite couple via the app. The unlucky couple will be dumped during Sunday night's instalment.
