Love Island’s Gemma Owen has addressed the “shade” her ITV2 dating show co-stars have been throwing at each other since leaving the villa.
This comes after Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu revealed she is in a WhatsApp group with all her fellow finalists, except Gemma Owen, who was noticeably not in it.
However, Gemma expressed a desire to stay out of the drama that has unfolded since the show’s eight-week stint on our screens ended.
She told Cosmopolitan : “I've tried to keep out of this as much as possible. I'm not going to be throwing shade on anyone.
“I hope no one's got anything bad to say about me. I'm keeping out of all the drama, I just want a nice life!”
Yet during an appearance on the Capital XTRA Breakfast show with Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie on Thursday, Ekin-Su and boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti spoke of their time in the villa.
The winner, 27, spoke about how she is in a chat with finalists Indiyah Polack and Tasha Ghouri, with runner-up Gemma absent from the group.
In the chat, Robert asked: "Davide, is there a love Island WhatsApp group and has anyone left it if there is?"
To which Davide said: "No to be honest, nobody still did add me so..." Shayna then asked: "Ekin-Su, you can add him to the group chat?"
"I don't even have one! Just the girls. we've got… No, we don't have all the girls in it as well. It’s only me, Tasha and Indiyah in it," Ekin replied.
It comes after fans speculated Ekin-Su and dressage rider Gemma, 19, secretly didn't get along during their time in the villa, as fans took to Twitter to discuss Gemma's and Paige's 'vibes' towards Ekin-Su.
"Gemma is so bitter towards ekin, twitter challenge needs to happen so ekin can see Gemma is fake and jealous of her," one user said.
"I just get such Mean Girl vibes from Gemma towards Ekin," another claimed.
One user believes: "Paige and Gemma's vibe with Ekin is so off like…"
Ekin-Su and Davide scored a whopping 63.69 percent of the final vote, while Gemma and Luca gained 14 percent.
Speaking after the final, Gemma revealed her thoughts on coming second place - following claims from some viewers that Luca looked baffled by their position.
She said: “It feels absolutely amazing. I don’t think any of us expected it. I feel like it could have been anyone out of the four couples. Really strong connections - I love all of them!”
"Whatever the situation was last night, I think we all just would have been happy for each other - a really good group of people."
