Love Island 2021 winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu has spoken about her family who currently living through the devastating impacts of the earthquake in Turkey. The Dancing on Ice celebrity, whose family hail from the country, has revealed that some of her relatives were left "sleeping outside" after the horrific earthquake, which has caused widespread devastation.
Ekin-Su, who had an entertainment career in Turkey before winning Love Island in the UK, has been using her social media to encourage her followers to support relief efforts because she has family in the region. While appearing on Sky News she spoke about what she knew about her family who are currently living in Turkey and were affected by the earthquake.
She said: "I have members of my family who have obviously experienced the shake. They've been outside, they've been sleeping outside...it's scary because it's people who are very close to me." The Love Island star has been posting on Instagram asking fans to donate to charities helping those affected by the earthquake.

Posting the death toll and images of the aftermath of the earthquake on Instagram, Ekin-Su said: "I’m pleading we help people are dying! Help stop the suffer in Turkey and Syria please help. I have donated as much as I can and we need to spread awareness."
Luca Bish, who appeared on the same series of Love Island as Ekin-Su, and Laura Whitmore, who hosted the series of Love Island Ekin-Su was on, both commented red love heart emojis on the post. Ekin-Su won Love Island in 2022 with her now boyfriend Davide Scanclimenti and since the show, they had their own ITV2 travelling and cooking show together, where they travelled to their home countries of Turkey and Italy.
