Love Island's Ekin-Su and Davide SPLIT months after winning ITV show

Love Island stars Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti have split just eleven months after championing the ITV2 dating show.

Davide announced the split on Instagram this evening, saying he wishes 'nothing but the best' for his ex-girlfriend.

"Ekin-Su and I are no longer together," the Italian star penned.

"I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared together and I wish her nothing but the best. I would like for everybody to respect this decision during this difficult time.

"I will continue to support Ekin in anyway possible."

Ekin has yet to comment on her breakup, but the reality TV star, appears to be doing well as she posted on her Instagram stories earlier today alongside her family.

The Turkish star beamed as she reunited with her mum and her aunts on holiday.

Ekin-Su, 28, and Italian businessman Davide, 27, triumphed in the final of the reality TV show last summer.

Since then, the pair have travelled the world together, and regularly posted updates about their relationship with their millions of fans on social media.

Just a number of days ago, the former couple appeared loved up as they attended a movie premiere together in London.

However, things may not have been as rosy as they seemed after things took a turn for the worst on their recent getaway to Amsterdam.

According to insiders, Ekin and Davide haven't been getting along as well as they would have liked to, and for 'some time'.

"They haven't been getting along for quite some time and they really tried to make it work, but despite their best efforts, they've decided to call it quits," the source close to the pair told The Sun.

It comes after Ekin recently revealed that she would consider moving back to her homeland of Turkey to pursue her acting career.

"I would actually love to go back to Turkey at some point and reconnect with some old agencies out there, who I was in a soap with," she said last month.

"I speak both English and Turkish so why can't I have a career in both countries?

"It is a hard industry and I think people always tell you, 'You can't do this, you can't do that,' but you have to keep pushing yourself really. Even when people say no, you have to keep going.

"I definitely wouldn't say no to Turkey."
