There was widespread panic amongst Love Island fans overnight on Wednesday when claims surfaced online that Davide Sanclimenti had quit the show.
After a bit of a slow start on the ITV show, Davide was instantly elevated to icon status after his "liar, actress" rant at Ekin-Su, as viewers urged them to sort out their differences and get back together. After Ekin-Su made it clear she still had feelings for Davide and he swallowed his pride, the two did reconcile, with fans then delighted when they both stayed loyal after Casa Amor.
However, while going into Wednesday night's Love Island, bookies still had them as red hot favourites to nab the £50,000 prize, ahead of Luca and Gemma, things took a turn for the worse again with Davide leaving those watching at home shocked but in hysterics as he told her: "Fake as the Louis Vuitton from China".
That brutal one liner came after Ekin-Su assured Davide she was very much into him and had no interest in pursuing bombshell Adam, shouting: "I don't give a f**k about Adam, I'll shout it: 'I don't give a f**k about Adam!'"

While it made for compelling viewing, Love Island devotees who've championed Davide and Ekin-Su's romance from day one were left crushed by their latest clash and then became even more alarmed when a post appeared on Facebook declaring that Davide had quit on 'personal grounds.'
The claims were published by fan account called Love Island Pet Store just as it all kicked off between the pair and read: "BREAKING NEWS: Davide Sanclimenti has reportedly left the Love Island villa on "personal grounds" and will leave filming immediately."
At the time of writing the post had been shared over 1,300 times with close to 6,000 comments from worried fans. One replied: "If he has left I will be gutted I really wanted him to win. If its true then looks like luca and Gemma get my vote," with another writing: "Hope this isn’t true. He’s the best in there by far.. Absolutely hilarious."
However, given that a similar post about Paige quitting Love Island was published by the same page earlier on, more sceptical Facebook users quickly dismissed the claims, with one reacting: "Didn't you say paige leaves and she's still there," and another responding: "Is love Island pet store a genuine source.. Errr no."
When Jacques and LIam both left Love Island, ChronicleLive received an immediate statement from ITV and, as yet, there has been nothing received about either Paige or Davide quitting.
