David Salako is the first contestant to be dumped from the Love Island villa following Friday night's recoupling.
The bombshell money advisor only arrived in the house on Wednesday after taking Tanya on a date and continued to graft her thereafter - that's despite her already being coupled with Shaq.
During tonight's ITV2 show, David told Tanya that he was really interested in her, and she admitted that she was keeping her options open.
But while gathered at the fire pit, Tanya decided to pick Shaq during the recoupling.
Speaking after tonight's show, David said: "Going in as a bombshell was nerve wracking. So, entering the Villa with Zara was great, as we were so confident together.
"I felt that we did shake things up a bit. The Islanders already had such a bond, so it was good going in with another Islander.
"I feel like people need to be a bit more confident with how they feel. People are scared of hurting other people’s feelings, which is obviously OK. No-one wants to hurt anyone’s feelings. But you’ve just got to be a bit selfish in there.
"Me and Tanya did have a good bond. We just found it easy to have a conversation with each other. But maybe that’s all it was between us, just good conversation."
At the end of the episode tonight, it was confirmed that there will be some new additions to the villa in the form of Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters - who appeared on the Australian version of the programme back in 2019 and 2021 respectively.
Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX this Sunday at 9pm; meanwhile Love Island: Aftersun returns at 10pm.
