Love Island’s Coco Lodge has denied claims she “stormed off” the reunion set when the special episode was pre-recorded this week.
The annual reunion, where the stars gather for one final time to reflect on the series as a whole, was said to have been thrown into chaos by a fight between the star and Summer Botwe.
The filming in London took place on Thursday evening, ahead of its broadcast on Sunday, and saw the former Love Island stars come to blows, although the full extent of the argument did not make the ITV2 broadcast.
Coco and Summer became embroiled in a row over comments Coco made during a podcast appearance about fellow Islander Josh Le Grove, who Summer was dating until recently. Speaking on the Saving Grace Podcast, Coco said that she "could have" slept with Josh after they were dumped from the villa, if she had wanted to.
Summer and Coco subsequently unfollowed one another on Instagram, only to come face to face at the reunion, where things came to a head.
Ahead of the broadcast, an attendee claimed Coco stormed off after the bust up with Summer, with audience members encouraging her to return and cheering her back into the room when she did.
However, in an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Coco has said she did not walk off the set, but was instead invited to take a break from the room to discuss the situation with Love Island producers.
Coco confirmed she had seen the rumours she stormed off after the argument, but said that most of what is being claimed she said in the argument cut from the broadcast “is a lie”.
She told the Mirror: “A lot of the things she's saying that I said, I never said. So I don't know why people are trying to gain traction or views or whatever she's trying to do there.”
She continued: “I didn't walk off. The executive producers came up to me and were like, ‘do you want to come with us and we can talk about it’, because I was upset.
“I'm a crier and so, if I get in an argument, I will cry after. I don't like being ganged up on and some of the comments were nasty that she said.
“So, they just took me to understand, because they didn't even realise there was a problem between us.
“I just sat with them for the first half and then the next break went back in, because I didn't want to miss the reunion. I think they were just checking if I was okay. So, I didn't storm off, they actually took me out to check I was okay.”
