Love Island's Anna Vakili has said that she was arrested in Iran because she was told her jeans fitted too tightly.
The reality TV star, who appeared on the hit ITV2 dating show in 2019, revealed that she was "grabbed" and police tried to put her into a van.
Thankfully, her aunt was able to interject and say that Anna was from England and that she didn't know the laws well enough.
Speaking on Johnny Seifert's Secure The Insecure podcast, she said: "I got arrested in Iran for wearing jeans."
She went on to explain how women in Iran had to dress modestly and that the government prevents women from wearing skirts and jeans.
Anna continued: "It was really scary because I just remember all these police women grabbing me and trying to put me in the van.
"They were saying in Farsi, 'Your jeans are too tight and it's not Islamic', and they were trying to push me into the car.
"My auntie was grabbing me and pulling me away and saying, 'She's English, she's from England, she doesn't know'.
"I pretended that I couldn't speak Farsi and they let me go because I was from England and I didn't know the laws enough."
It comes after Anna admitted she was scared to open up about having an abortion 10 years ago.
She said: "I feel really scared to open up about this, but I think it’s important to do it because I learnt from my own mistake.
"And if other people can learn from my mistake then it’s the best thing to come from this.
"When I was younger – about 21, I was having unprotected sex - I don’t know what I was thinking. I wasn’t thinking, and I ended up pregnant."
She added: "Obviously I was really young and I wasn’t ready, and I had an abortion.
"At that age you don’t think what can happen and I have deep regrets that I did end up pregnant.
"I didn't wish to be pregnant and have to get an abortion – I don’t like that. So if you can avoid that – do."
She then gave an insight into how she practices safe sex today, adding: "Ever since then I’ve practiced safe sex and I’m now on the coil."
