Last year Love Island star Anna Vakili and her sister Mandi were released with no further action after allegedly getting into an altercation during a night out in London
The 31-year-old reality star – who featured in the 2019 season of ITV2's hit dating show – says she was the one to phone police on 11 April last year as she feared she was about to be kidnapped.
But while waiting for the police to arrive, Anna and her 29-year-old sister allegedly became engaged in an argument while they were outside the Dorchester hotel in Central London.
Details of the arrest have now come to light, with Anna reportedly spending a night in a cell before being released – and the star now wants to "sue" the Metropolitan police over the incident.
Anna told The Sun: "We got arrested for fighting each other – it wasn't even a physical fight. Mandi scratched my neck and it was bleeding a tiny bit. It was the tiniest little scratch, and the worst part of this is, that I called the police!"
She continued: "The next morning during my video interview, I told them I would sue them, and that she was my sister. I was saying, 'have you never had a fight with your sister?' I love my sister more than anything in this world."
She also explosively claims: "The police did it on purpose because they knew who we were, and I could sue them for that. I was in the back of the police van with handcuffs on, and I could see at the front that they were googling my name."
The report goes on to claim that the sisters were handcuffed at the scene of the incident and spent 14 hours in police cells before being questioned and then released.
When asked by the Mirror for comment, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at approximately 00:06hrs on Sunday, 11 April to reports of a disturbance in Park Lane, W1.
"Officers attended and spoke to a witness who reported seeing two women involved in an altercation. No injuries were reported.
"Two women, aged 29 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of common assault and taken into custody.
"Following enquiries it was established that no further action was necessary and both were released from custody."
The day before the incident, Mandi had taken to Instagram to share a gushing post about sisterhood – posting a photograph of herself and Anna posing together in lingerie.
She wrote: "When I am blue, so are you and that’s what SISTERS are for.
"Twinning with my sister in this gorgeous set from @bouxavenue on National Sibling’s Day! Designed in London, by women for EVERY body."
While Anna took to Instagram the day after their alleged arrest to share a snap of herself enjoying an extravagant brunch at a restaurant in Chelsea.
She wrote at the time: "Blankets & Cocktails. Not even the cold is going to stop me. Happy April 12th Everyone."
