Andrew Le Page has revealed he had secret surgery just weeks before entering the Love Island villa.
The estate agent - who lives in Dubai - is hoping to find love this summer with one of the other Islanders when he enters the villa next Monday June 6, as the show kicks off then on ITV2 at 9pm.
However, just weeks before he was due to join the show, he had to undergo some painful chest surgery. He has discussed the procedure for the first time, with the recovery leaving him unable to train in the gym for six weeks.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, he said: "I had some chest surgery, which meant I was out for six weeks, and then two weeks before I came in, I could start training again so it's just getting back into it now."
He explained how the recovery for his surgery left him out of action for longer than he had hoped.
"Basically, I had a gland removed out of my chest, so just got that done. I thought it would be a lot quicker recovery, but six weeks was long. It is what it is," he added of the last few weeks.
Andrew has since recovered from the surgery and is back working out as much as he can.
"We've got a little regime here. So we'll get up in the morning and we'll do a HIIT training session. We'll have breakfast, lunch, tan, and play some games. We've been given lots of little videos to make. Keeps us busy!" he said, as he opened up about his routine.
The group then end their day with some weight training, before making dinner and watching a movie.
He had vowed he'll definitely be making an appearance in the villa gym once he's in the show.
"You'll be seeing me at the gym in the villa definitely. I couldn't train for a little while just before I came in actually, five or six weeks, so I need to get back in shape quick. I'll be in the villa gym for sure," Andrew explained.
*Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 6th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
