Love Island's Adam Collard 'didn't even ask' Paige Thorne to be his girlfriend

ITV Love Island stars Adam Collard says he "didn't even ask" Paige Thorne to be his girlfriend, instead just telling her: "This is a thing now please."

The two hugely popular Love Island contestants have been seen in and around Swansea over the past week, eating out at restaurants including Castellamare and enjoying restaurants. Adam and Paige have already confirmed they are now "officially" boyfriend and girlfriend, while Paige has also stated her intention to go back to paramedic work.

Host Ranvir Singh on ITV's Lorraine asked the couple earlier this week: "Are you officially boyfriend and girlfriend?" Adam and Paige replied: "We are."

Meanwhile, Adam told On Demand Entertainment : "The only time where we got to sit on the sofa — it was only us for the first time — I was like 'Right, I need to ask you now because it's not for anyone's benefit, apart from mine and yours. I do really want you to be my girlfriend'. I didn't even ask her actually, I just told her. I just said 'Right, so this is a thing now, please'." Paige, who was sitting alongside him, laughed: "You just told me."

It comes after Paige addressed Jacques' exit after she was dumped from the villa, saying: “Honestly, I had a feeling that he was going to leave. It was really hard hearing him say it out loud, but I knew there was nothing I could say to make him want to change his mind.

“I knew that wouldn’t be right. I fully supported his decision, absolutely I could never have sat there and asked him to stay.” She added: “It did cross my mind a little bit to leave with him, but things hadn’t been 100% all the way through, and the fact that they weren’t was what made me think.

“The fact that I stayed and I gave 100% to the experience and found something new and something more suited towards me just goes to show that everything happens for a reason.”
