Love Island dropped its first big twist of the series on Monday night, moments after the couples were formed.
Bombshell Zachariah Noble made his dramatic debut at the end of the launch episode, as the new Islanders got to know each other.
He wasn't the only one entering the villa though, as host Maya Jama returned to the famous location just hours after being there to introduce the new girls and boys.
This time, she had a shock up her sleeve as she confirmed a huge twist was about to unfold.
Just as the Islanders were having a few drinks and getting up close and personal with some ice breaker games, Maya walked in to interrupt the party.
Zachariah strutted into the famous villa garden in front of the stunned Islanders, many of whom were left gasping.
Despite bombshells entering on the first night in every series, some of them clearly did not get the memo and it was clear the boys were feeling threatened.
But moments earlier, Maya dared the girls to make a big decision and potentially ditch their current partners.
She asked the girls to step forward if they were unsure about their current boy, leading to Ruchee Gurung and Jess Harding stepping forward.
As Maya asked them why, Jess confessed she did not have a connection with her boy George, and Ruchee admitted there was no chemistry with her partner Mehdi.
Neither of the boys seemed surprised, with Mehdi admitting he guessed it would happen while suggesting they did not match.
It's then that Maya confessed things could change as bombshell Zachariah entered, and he was told in 24 hours he would steal a girl.
It comes after host Maya confirmed a double twist to start off the series, with a show first too.
Announcing she's "got some news", Maya revealed the decision of who the Islanders would couple up with had already been made for them by the public.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain this week, Maya teased the shock twist, saying: "A very big surprise is that the public has all the power.
"For the first episode, you guys are going to decide who couples up. You vote and then we listen. It's a big decision to make, as soon as you see them."
For the first time ever, both boys and girls entered the villa as Ruchee Gurung and Jess Harding were joined by Mitchell Taylor, Ella and André Furtado as they got to know each other in one of the show's most flirtatious first episodes ever.
Meanwhile, Maya issued a warning to the latest batch of Love Islanders, telling them: “Don’t fall in love on the first day.”
The presenter – who is rumoured to have reignited her romance with grime star Stormzy after their split in 2019 – said her advice would be to play the field.
Speaking to the Mirror, she said: “When they lock themselves up right away, I’m like, ‘No, you’ve got so much time, know everybody’.
“Don’t fall in love on the first day. But if you do, fantastic, you might just end up making it to the end.
“Me, personally, I wouldn’t lock down with somebody on the first day. I would keep my options open.”
Love Island airs all this week at 9PM on ITV2 and ITVX.
