Love Island rocked as couple dumped immediately and two more contestants are set to follow

Love Island 2023 has shocked viewers with the most fast-paced and dramatic last few minutes of an episode ever seen. During the show that aired on Wednesday, July 11, two Islanders were dumped immediately by text, six contestants were made vulnerable and two new bombshells were introduced.

At the end of the episode tonight, Ella Thomas received a text that read: "Islanders the couple have been voting for the most compatible couple."

This was followed by a text message sent to Whitney Adebayo that immediately dumped Elom Ahlijah-Wilson and Catherine Agbaje. It read: "The couple with the fewest votes is Catherine and Elom. Catherine and Elom, you've been dumped from the Island, please say your goodbyes and leave the villa."

Catherine and Elom were understandably shocked, as were their fellow Islanders who kept saying: "It doesn't make sense." Upon leaving, Catherine said: "I feel like this was the perfect way to go out," while Elom described his experience as "wonderful."

However, as the Islanders were waving goodbye at the villa doors, they received another text asking them to gather around the fire pit where they learned that Catherine and Elom weren't the only couple set to be dumped from the Island.

Leah Taylor and Montel McKenzie, Kady McDermott and Ouzy See, and Jess Harding and Sammy Root were then told they were also at risk of leaving the villa after receiving the fewest votes. The episode then rolled to the tomorrow night trailer as Mitchel Taylor read out a text that said: "The couple with the fewest votes is..."

However, the drama didn't end there as Love Island then introduced two new bombshells. Josh Brocklebank from Upminster and Ella Barnes from Kent. The late arrivals are set to make their debut during the episode that airs on Thursday, July 13.

Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
