A recent social media post from ITV has stirred up excitement among viewers, hinting that Love Island may be returning to our screens sooner than anticipated.
The post features a photo of the programme's host, 28-year-old Maya Jama, beaming with the words 'May(A)', leading fans to believe that the programme could be back as early as this month.
However, given that the winter series ended just in March, with Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan being crowned the winners, fans of the reality show were left perplexed by the cryptic post.

"Love Island again??? It's just finished," wrote one fan in the comments, as another penned: "Not long til our fix," as they tagged their pals.
There was a slight bit of confusion amongst fans of the programme, but some have already reacted with absolute elation - one fan posted: "I love Maya Jama" along with several heart emojis and excited faces.
Another said: "Yesss! Can't wait", with a string of heart emojis which has been liked over 3000 times since its posting, according to the Daily Record.
Love Island, where individuals enter a tropical villa to seek love, has become increasingly hard to keep up with; apart from the well-established original series, set in Spain, there's also a recently wrapped up winter version.
To expand the program's reach, it was previously announced that a new offshoot called The Romance Retreat would provide single parents with a chance at lasting love.
It's been revealed that Davina McCall, a judge on The Masked Singer and a prominent TV host, aged 55, will be the face of another Love Island spin-off. It's reasonable to assume that the regular summer series will be returning.
The well-known presenter, who served as the face of Big Brother for several years, took to Instagram to share her enthusiasm for the new gig via a video.
In the clip, she said: "I manifested and I made it happen. I willed there to be an amazing new dating programme for grown-ups, people who have lived a life, who have been through experiences, bad, moving, they've had tough lives.
"They've got luggage but they deserve love and it's happening. It's coming to ITV soon."
