Love Island host Laura Whitmore sparked a backlash when she tried to mock islander Tasha Ghouri on live television yesterday.
The 37-year-old made the playful jibe on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen where she was a guest with telly chef Matt Tebbut.
But the Bray presenter – who last week moaned about negative comments on her hosting the reality show – was left with egg on her face after poking fun at Tasha.

Laura appeared to mock the dancer’s views on rosé wine, but it backfired when BBC wine expert Helen McGinn stepped in to take Tasha’s side in the argument.
Making her Saturday Kitchen debut, Laura said the eighth series of ITV hit show Love Island was the “best ever”.
She went on: “It’s a lot of fun. It’s nice to be on a show where I can talk to you guys as I normally go into hiding.”
Laura, who said her idea of food heaven was seafood linguine, shocked viewers by chomping down on her dream snack of raw mushrooms and mayonnaise.
Wine buff McGinn told the studio how she had stocked up on some rosé as Iain and Laura love it. She said: “There might be rosé as I know how much you and Iain [Stirling, Laura’s husband] love it on a Friday night.”
Laura giggled before claiming Tasha had got confused about what rosé wine was. She said: “Tasha on Love Island thought rose wine was red and white wine mixed together which is apparently not how you make it.”
However, she was surprised when Helen hit back: “Well I have to say Tasha’s not completely wrong”. A taken aback Laura replied:” Oh. Go on.”
Helen explained: “In Champagne you are allowed to mix red and white wine to make rose, but only in Champagne in France.”
Refusing to let the matter rest Laura retorted: “Do you think Tasha thought that? Do you think Tasha thought that?”
Helen replied: “I love Tasha.”
Some Saturday Kitchen viewers took exception to Laura’s barbed remarks.
One wrote on Twitter: “Will Laura Whitmore be eating a slice of humble pie on Saturday Kitchen? We can only hope.”
