Love Island 2022 received a total of 466 Ofcom complaints in its final week of airing.
The Mirror reported that The Office of Communications confirmed that 286 complaints they received on July 26 were in relation to Luca Bish's behaviour towards Gemma Owen. Meanwhile, a further 180 complaints were received on August 1, during the final, as viewers were "upset" with which couples had made it to the final and also fans complaining that the show was "rigged".
Luca and Gemma were runners up in the 2022 final as Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti were crowned the winners. The other two couples who made it to the final were Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page and Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack. Tasha and Andrew came in fourth place, while Dami and Indiyah took third place in the reality series.
