Love Island fans have been left with their jaws on the floor after tonight’s episode which aired the revelation that contestant Gemma wants to have children in the next year.
The 19-year-old reality star, who is the daughter of football ace Michael Owen, wants to get busy procreating sharpish, according to a fellow ITV2 star.
Viewers were stunned by the revelation which was voiced by fishmonger Luca Bish who stirred up the drama as he told his fellow Islanders that his love interest is nearly ready to have children.
While helping Ekin-Su in the kitchen, Luca said: “I’m good at stirring the pot, I’ll do it,” when she asks fellow contestant Tasha to “do something useful” and stir something for her.
“Gemma wants kids in the next year as well,” he then commented.
Tasha asked in disbelief: “She wants what?” while Ekin-Su turns her head away and pulls a face.
“She’s quite mature as well isn’t she, to be fair,” Luca went on while smiling.
Viewers couldn’t believe their ears as they watched the conversation play out.
Some took to Twitter to voice their dismay, with one referring to her age: “‘Gemma wants kids in the next year’ excuse me she’s not even voted in a general election yet”
Gemma is the youngest contestant in the villa and fans couldn’t believe his comment: “Tell me I did not just hear Luca say Gemma wants kids in the next year? I could not have heard that, my ears are deceiving me.”
Another quipped: “Luca ‘Gemma wants kids in the next year’ Yea she also would love those A level results too.”
And a fourth wrote: “Luca desperately trying to suggest that Gemma and him could have kids is his most unhinged plan yet. My guy, you got the votes, rest!”
It comes as Gemma’s dad has spoken about giving his kids a 'normal' upbringing after his daughter Gemma is being targeted for having a very privileged life.
The 42-year-old former England footballer has defended his 19-year-old daughter after critics complained that she doesn't have the feeling of what the 'real' world is like.
While Gemma is splitting viewers opinions on the ITV2 show, Michael has said that she is "the most amazing girl you could meet."
The former Liverpool and Manchester United star, who has three other children, James, 16, Emily, 14, and Jess, 12, with wife Louise, continued to big up Gemma's personality, saying: "She’s clever and funny and kind. She’s not two-faced. She’s loyal, a decent person.”
