Love Island fans reacted to Gemma Owen 's shock re-coupling saying they think she wanted 'a breather' from smitten fish salesman Luca Bish.
The pair were prised apart by newcomer Danica Taylor in last night latest offering as the newcomer made the decision to swipe Luca from the equestrian teen.
Fans cast doubt on Gemma and Luca's time together as a couple after she confronted him over their relationship "moving too fast''.
Other also questioned whether he was 'controlling' over the 19-year-old leaving her feeling she needing time apart.
But the bombshell Danica may have done her a favour by swooping in to steal Luca.
Danica told viewers: "I’ve decided to couple up with this boy.
"I’ve not been here 24 hrs so it is a weird situation to be in, and I’ve barely got to know any of you.
“You’re all lovely boys but I didn’t come here to play it safe. I can only follow my heart, I can only go on face value.
“Someone that is my type. And I need to explore that unfortunately, so I’m going to have to follow my heart on that one.
“The boy I want to couple up with is Luca.”
Gemma was all smiles as the camera caught her reaction and she furthered fans prediction as she opted to sleep alone instead of with Luca on the day beds.
She has however coupled up with Italian Davide Sanclimenti for the second time in the series.
Reacted on Twitter one fan said: "I think Gemma is happy Luca is off her back for a second. She wants a breather I can tell."
Another added: "gemma could really sleep in the bed with him if she wanted to LOOL"
And a third penned: "hm idk i don’t think gemma likes luca as much"
But Luca was left visibly furious about the switch up as fans speculate he's got a 'sinister' game plan to win her back.
During last night's episode, the handsome islander said he was 'gutted' by the re-coupling, but he then declared it would 'make him and Gemma stronger'.
Taking to Twitter, one penned: "Luca 100% knows who Gemma's dad is. Why else would he be so vexed? This dude has some sinister intentions mark my words."
"Jheez poor Danica, she doesn't deserve that attitude from Luca. He's far too mad about Gemma being coupled-up with Davide again," someone else tweeted.
