Love Island fans have predicted Gemma Owen could dump her current love interest Davide Sanclimenti after the star’s shocked reaction to Liam Llewellyn ’s double date bombshell.
The 19-year-old equestrian performer shot ex Liam a jealous look during Thursday night's episode, after a text told Liam he had dates with the two new Islanders.
The arrival of two bombshells – actress Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and lounge hostess Afia Tonkmorin – means the girls in the villa could be under threat, with one likely to get the chop on Friday.
But viewers have been left convinced Gemma will realise Liam is a fan favourite and attempt to win him back as a result.
Gemma left a door open when she dumped Liam, telling him: “Me being in a couple with him hasn’t changed how I feel about you. I still want to chat to you. It’s still early days. But I can imagine it’s not a nice situation to be in.”
Liam said: “You’re still at the top of my tree! You are girlfriend material. Tomorrow is a new day — I’ve got work to do!”
Taking to Twitter after clocking the look Gemma shot Liam, one viewer wrote: “Gemma's face when Liam got chosen for both dates...now she knows he is popular with the public she will go running back...don't fall for it Liam.”
Another tweeted: “Prediction: the new girls come into the villa and take interest in Davide, Davide puts his eggs in their basket, Gemma realises and goes running back to Liam.”
Another viewer tweeted “Liammmm…Gemma is using you to have as back up in case Davide dump her ….mans ain’t the brightest."
One Love Island fan claimed: “Gemma deffo using Davide to make Liam jealous she playing games.”
This comes after reports that Gemma's family are working hard to try and save her career following the backlash she has received since the eighth series of Love Island kicked off on Monday.
The brunette bombshell has already been blasted by former Love Island stars Marcel Somerville, Amber Gill, and Chloe Burrows, and she has been labelled as 'nasty' and 'rude' by unimpressed Love Island viewers.
ITV2 viewers have been particularly riled up by Gemma's attitude towards Liam, who she was initially paired with, before moving on to Italian Stallion Davide.
Following the backlash, Gemma's family – and famous football star – Michael Owen - are working behind the scenes to try and boost her profile by the time she leaves the villa.
The Love Island star's family have signed her up to the specialist PR agency which looks after former finalist Maura Higgins, 31, to boost her image.
After just three days in the villa, Off Limits Entertainment is now on board to look after Gemma’s image once she departs the show.
The agency already advises some of Love Island’s most successful stars including Maura, Shaughna Phillips, 28, Chris Hughes, 29, and Georgia Steel, 24.
It also looks after former boxers Amir Khan, 35, and Carl Froch, 44, and X Factor and I’m a Celebrity… contestant Jake Quickenden, 33.
