Love Island fans have been left in hysterics tonight (March 8) as TikTok farmer Will Young named his baby after a dead sheep. Tonight's episode saw the return of a classic Love Island challenge, the baby challenge, which saw the series nine contestants get rudely awakened by a number of crying babies in cots.
Each of the couples had a baby each, with Will and Love Island Australia star Jessie Wynter becoming parents to a screaming baby boy. As the pairs got to know their bundles of joy, Will and Jessie pondered names for their plastic son.
Jessie announced that she and Will would be calling their baby Rufus. Explaining the sad origins behind his son's name, Will said: "Rufus came from a pet sheep I had on the farm who sadly passed away last year."

"He's a cute little baby, Rufus," Will added, cradling the baby. "We're going to get him on the farm, he's going to be n the tractor, feeding the lambs..."
Fans of Love Island found Will's choice of baby name hilarious, although many found it easy to believe given his unconditional love for his flock. Nikita tweeted: "Will naming his baby after a sheep doesn't surprise me."
"A pet sheep who passed away on his farm," Sophie-dawn laughed. "Oh Will you do make me laugh." Bethany said: "Will naming their baby after his dead sheep is not surprising at all.. I’d do the same."
Prior to entering the villa, Will, who garnered a huge following on TikTok with his farming videos, shared a clip on the video-sharing platform in December 2021, announcing the death of his beloved sheep. "Hello everyone," he wrote. "Unfortunately I have some sad news.
"I lost my little Rufus today so suddenly. He was under treatment and just didn't make it.
"Hopefully he's found a comfy spot in the sky, we will always love and miss you Rufus."
Elsewhere in tonight's instalment of Love Island, Will had a fun time being a parent, zooming Rufus' pushchair around the pool and breaking its wheel off. He also put a farming spin on the classic "Here comes the plane" technique for feeding time, swirling a spoon in the air towards Rufus' mouth as he said, "Here comes the tractor!"
