Love Island fans were left fuming after Laura Whitmore 'ruined' the big finale for them last night. The host revealed that whatever couple won, they would split the £50,000 cash prize within seconds of the hit ITV show starting.
Previously, contestants had been given a choice of splitting the money with their other half or stealing it all for themselves. With hours to go until the Love Island final, there were odds on either Davide or Ekin-Su taking the money, as they were red hot favourites to win.
However, their odds ended up being redundant as within seconds of the final starting, presenter Laura first said the winners would split £50,000, which sparked confusion as viewers assumed that might not necessarily be a given. But then she confirmed suspicions by announcing that the winners 'wouldn't be asked to choose between love and money.'
