Love Island fans were excited to see the return of their favourite dating contest as the winter edition of Love Island 2023 kicked off on Monday night (January 16). But viewers complained that they were unable to enjoy the series premiere as they had hoped.
As new host Maya Jama took over from Laura Whitmore this year, a fresh batch of singletons entered the TV villa in South Africa in the hope of finding love on the show screened on ITV2 and its streaming service ITVX. The first episode saw 10 Islanders meeting for the first time and choosing who they wanted to get to know.
However, many fans flocked to Twitter to say their viewing enjoyment had been disrupted by "glitches" with one saying they were left with "black screen." Another fan @kunarlmarx joked with pictures of a fuzzy screen: "Top 3 moments from tonight’s episode so far."
