Love Island viewers have been screaming at their televisions tonight as several of the Islanders found themselves in hot water with their ex-partners after yesterday's recoupling. Earlier this week, we saw the girls get to know six new boys during their trip to Casa Amor, whilst the boys remained in the Love Island villa and got to know six new girls.
In what was described as the "most nail-biting" Casa Amor recoupling episode since Love Island first launched in 2015, the group were brought back together and the original Islanders were asked if they wanted to "stick" to their initial partner or "twist" and get together with a new partner.
Some of the most dramatic moments came when Ella Thomas chose to "twist" and re-couple with new Love Islander Ouzy See, leaving her initial partner Tyrique Hyde single, whilst Welsh footballer Scott Van Der Sluis was left single when Catherine Agbaje chose to couple-up with newcomer Elom Ahlijah-Wilson.
Whilst Montel McKenzie decided to stick to his original partner Leah Taylor, their experience getting back together wasn't without its drama as Montel's partner in Casa Amor, Tink Reading, felt betrayed by Montel returning to Leah - and Montel soon had to own up to the fact he had kissed and shared a bed with Tink in Casa Amor.
In an attempt to defend himself, Montel tried to convince Leah that the other boys had influenced his actions - and viewers are fuming about it. Whilst fellow Islander Tyrique did encourage Montel to kiss Tink, she later let slip that she and Montel had shared an X-rated night together, obviously outside of Tyrique's influence.
After Montel blamed the boys for his behaviour, Leah said: "In that moment, all you had to do was say 'I kissed her'…not mentioning the boys. That’s all you had to do. I would have been like, ‘cool, thanks for telling me’ and moved on…no, two people physically push your heads together?! You can’t blame it on everyone else!"
Criticising Montel for blaming the other boys for his behaviour, one viewer said: "LOOOOOL not the ‘my boys told me to do this,'" whilst another viewer called out Montel for giving in to peer-pressure and cheating on Leah. "Leah's annoying asf but she's right, peer-pressured cheating ain't it. If you're doing it, do it with your chest," the viewer said. "Leah, Montel can't make a decision on his own. He is a boys' boy," added another viewer.
"If Leah's wise, she'll drop him," said another. "Good job knowing Montel is a follower and that's a red flag," added another. "Leah ur boring but at least ur smart," agreed another viewer.
Praising Leah for calling Montel out for his behaviour, another fan said: "Claps to Leah for exposing the boys to the girls." "Nah Leah you deserve better than Montel what a weak man yuck!!" said another.
Love Island is on ITV 2 Monday to Friday at 9pm
