Love Island fans ask where Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling are after missing them

Love Island fans have questioned where the hosts of the show are as they have been "missing".

Power couple Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling take the helm of the ITV2 dating show, with Iain providing a comical commentary and Laura getting the goss from the contestants during special occasions and on the spinoff show, Aftersun.

But fans have complained on Twitter as both hosts appeared to be missing this week. While Laura has hosted three episodes of Aftersun so far, she has rarely appeared on the main show since it began three weeks ago. Love Island said the host of the show "has never appeared in every episode" and that Laura’s next arrival "will be a surprise".

The villa has featured four dumpings so far this series - a situation where late host Caroline Flack would always deliver the news in person. However, this year texts have taken over the host's job as the islanders have to read out their fellow cast-member's fates.

Taking to Twitter, fans have questioned the presenter's lack of appearances on the main show. Pamela said: "Where's Laura Whitmore? Haven't seen her since this season started. What's @itv2 paying her £500,00 for? sitting at home watching it. #LoveIsland."

Another user said: "We haven’t seen Laura since the first episode, where is she? #LoveIsland." AH said: "Where is Laura Whitmore??? Surely she isn't getting paid for this gig? #LoveIsland."

During last night's episode there was also an eerie silence for the majority of it as Iain's voiceover commentary wasn't featured as heavily as usual. Patrick said: "Anyone else notice that Iain Stirling isn’t in tonight’s episode? #LoveIsland."

Rupes said: "Where is Iain sterling! #LoveIsland". Meanwhile James said: "Has anyone noticed Iain isn’t commentating? I wonder what’s happened to him… #LoveIsland."

However, Iain came back with bombshell news towards the end of the episode. He announced that in tonight's show we will see the moment that all Love Island viewers have been waiting for - Casa Amor.
