Love Island fans were left with a similar verdict on Monday evening as Casey O'Gorman and Claudia Fogarty finally called it quits after days of tension.
The ITV2 reality show has just two weeks before the grand live Love Island final, but they were the couple thrown into doubt after the latest recoupling rocked the South African villa.
Claudia – daughter of I’m A Celebrity winner Carl Fogarty – had struggled to cope as her man Casey grew close to bombshell Rosie, who left her in tears when she chose to couple up with Casey on Friday's dramatic episode.
Claudia's woes were not made any easier in scenes on Sunday night, when Samie spilled the beans on what the bombshell had said about Claudia's romance with Casey.
Claudia and Casey’s anticipated breakup scenes on Monday came after a game of Snog, Marry, Pie, which left Claudia feeling like the dye had already been cast on the blossoming love triangle.
As night fell in the villa, Casey came to find Claudia and said: “Sorry if you felt pushed aside but, for me, there's more of a connection there with Rosie.”
Casey insisted he had behaved honourably, saying he'd been ‘honest and upfront’ with Claudia, but she did not agree, telling him she felt she was owed an apology.
Casey said: “I'm really really sorry and that's the thing I feel worst about,” and Claudia replied: “It's just so hard for me because I genuinely really liked you.
“Now I'm just going to have to deal with it. Watching the guy I like, like someone else. It's hard. You obviously didn't feel that way about me before.”
She then stood up and left as she added: ”Not much more to say from me, it's fine. Let's just leave it. I wish you the best. That's it.”
As the episode ended on the couple’s final moments, Love Island fans took to Twitter to accuse Claudia of overreacting, given how fresh their relationship was.
One tweeted: “Claudia acting like he proposed and broke it off the day before the wedding.”
Another agreed: ”No one else in the villa has made THIS big of a deal, when their partner is getting to know someone else, when it’s been this early on, Claudia needs to get a grip!”
However, others were sympathetic. One posted: ”Claudia is definitely not my fave but I really feel bad for her. I hope she’s okay.”
Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
