Jacques O'Neill gave a Love Island fan the shock of his life when he rocked up on his flight home from Spain.
The passenger from Hull hadn't caught up with the latest episode of the show and so had no idea the star had quit.
In dramatic scenes, Jacques, 23, decided to say adios to the villa on Monday night and wasted little time in getting back to Blighty.
Speaking about seeing the star in the airport, the passenger said: "I was shocked seeing him as I didn’t catch up on the episodes due to been on holiday but then I saw him at the airport in Palma Nova.
"It was a complete shock to everyone there, the whole airport couldn’t believe it."
He added. "What I thought was most touching is that he took time to get pictures with people after what he explained to the viewers on Tuesday night. This completely changed the view of what others thought of Jacques."
The rugby pro had a tough time on the show after tearfully telling the Islanders he wasn't giving the best version of himself.
His decision to leave came after bombshell Adam Collard returned to the villa and made a beeline for Paige, who the rugby star was coupled up with.
Jacques seemed irritated by the Love Island, who he claimed was “chatting s**t” about him behind his back.
Later, summoning the gang around the fire pit, he tearfully explained: "Lately, I just can't be myself. I'm trying my best - but I'm not a fake person."
Jacques has received mixed feedback while in the villa after he had his head turned by Cheyanne in Casa Amor.
However, since making the decision to quit, many fans have pledged their support for the ex-boyfriend of Gemma Owen.
One tweeted: One said: "It’s a shame Jacques has quit he was really entertaining."
While another added: "I hope Jacques is okay tho and has a strong support system at home."
The professional rugby player leaves behind Welsh paramedic Paige on the show, who he admitted he'd fallen for.
Saying he'd never been so eager to introduce a girl to his mum before, Jacques added he hoped they'd be able to rekindle their spark outside of the show.
Fingers crossed!
Love Island is on ITV2 tonight at 9pm.
