Love Island extended amid sudden public vote as contestants clash

Tonight's episode of Love Island has been extended following the news off a shock public vote. A teaser for the latest episode which starts at 9pm on ITV2 also shows contestants Ekin-Su and Amber in heated discussion in what is set to be a night full of drama.

In a clip for the explosive episode, Amber is seen telling Ekin-Su: "How you've been acting the past couple of days has made me question you,", before Ekin-Su hits back by saying: "You're trying to create s*** right now and it's p****** me the f*** off."

Lat night, voiceover Ian Stirling told viewers that lines were open to vote for their favourite boy and girl. Presenter Laura Whitmore later revealed that the two contestants with the least amount of votes will be at risk of being dumped from the Island.

Explaining the shock twist, Laura said: "Earlier Love Island launched a public vote to choose your favourite Islanders. The boy and girl with the fewest votes could be in danger.

"I can now reveal that the vote is closed. So if you haven't voted yet, no complaints if your favourites are on the line."

Season eight of ITV's Love Island (ITV)

As a result of all the drama, the episode has been extended by an extra five minutes, finishing at 10.05pm instead.

The latest vote comes after new girl Danica Taylor coupled up with Luca Bish during a dramatic recoupling that saw Remi Lambert dumped from the villa. This was due to the girls being given the chance to pick which boy they wanted to couple up with.

The 21-year-old dancer from Leicester chose to steal Luca from Gemma Owen, forcing the daughter of football star Michael Owen to take back her ex-partner, Davide Sanclimenti. Before making her choice, Danica told the islanders she had to "go with the heart".
