Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti have won Love Island 2022.
Host Laura Whitmore presented the live finale from the plush villa in Majorca, which left viewers gripped as Gemma Owen and Luca Bish faced the eventual winners in the final two following a public vote.
Ekin Su said of her other half ahead of the big announcement: "I would say there was an instant spark and genuine butterfly feeling. Our relationship is absolutely bonkers, crazy, romantic and fun."
Davide said he planned to take Ekin to Italy to meet his parents, making Ekin Su emotional.
Davide added: "As soon as I saw her I was like 'wow' so there was initial attraction."
Luca said: "As soon as I walked through that door I could see I was attracted to her and just hearing her talk, that's when my head started to go. I've never loved someone so much."
Gemma added: "He was just cheeky, I love his smile. We are literally the same person."
The pair said the moment they got together felt like the "start" of the series for them. Gemma added they will be pursuing an "exclusive" status when they get out of the villa after refusing to officially commit while they were on the show.
Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack came third while Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page were the first couple to be booted from the ITV2 reality dating show's final episode when it kicked off tonight.
Tasha and Andrew were the only original couple who were still together after they were matched by the public in the first episode.
Andrew: "Tasha was the first girl I saw and I thought she was absolutely stunning."
The pair had a rocky road to the final and split up briefly due to the drama of Casa Amor but said they were looking forward to moving in together in London.
Tasha added: "We're going to have a great time for sure."
The champions walked away with the £50,000 cash prize as there was a change up to this year's final and they didn't have to decide whether or not they wanted to split it or steal it.
Elsewhere in the episode, the remaining islanders got glammed up and confessed their heartfelt feelings for each other as they enjoyed one last night together in the swanky villa they'd been calling home for the past two months.
It’s was a highly entertaining and turbulent series, with ITV bosses confirming they’ll "sit down and review" how the hit show is produced in the future after thousands of complaints to OFCOM.
For the first time ever, the show brought back a former contestant to shake things up, with hunk Adam Collard entering the villa once again. He originally appeared in Season four and dated his other half from that season, Zara McDermott, for eight months before they eventually split.
Collard coupled with Paige Thorne following the exit of Gemma Owen's ex Jacques O'Neill, who walked out when Adam made. his shock entrance. The Welsh paramedic and PT were both dumped from the island on Sunday night.
The duo missed out on being part of the grand finale after each of the couples were tasked to vote for the two least compatible pairs during Friday's episode.
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti received the most amount of votes after every other couple voted for them. Luca Bish and Gemma Owen, Paige and Adam and Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page also received votes, meaning all of them were in danger of being dumped.
Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack received an automatic place in the final after none of the other couples voted them least compatible.
It comes after each of the couples sat down with her parents during the annual Meet The Parents instalment. Paige spoke with her mum and dad about her time in the Love Island villa, which saw her dad admit he’s not been watching her on the ITV2 show and her mum say she’s “not buying” her relationship with Adam.
The final week on the show saw the couples each enjoy their romantic final dates, with Ekin-Su and Davide treated to a serenade from Alfie Boe as they enjoyed an incredible candlelit date in a colosseum-style setting.
“I feel like I’m in a dream,” she told Davide, who toasted to themselves and said: “To our beautiful experience and hopefully we will last forever - it will last forever.”
Ekin-Su added: "This is probably the most romantic date I’ve ever been on in my life. I just can’t get over this. It’s everything I’ve always wanted."
Among the other epic dates included Adam and Paige chilling together on a lavish yacht, Dami and Indiyah dancing the day away in a fiesta, Gemma and Luca serenaded by a six-piece ensemble and Tasha and Andrew's Kardashian-style dinner.
The final of Love Island airs on ITV2 and ITV Hub at 9pm on Monday August 1.
