An All Stars edition of Love Island is reportedly in development, which would see former islanders return in a special series of the show for another chance to find love.
It's been claimed that ITV are considering bringing back single islanders from past series for another chance at finding love in a special edition of the popular ITV2 show.
Some former islanders have already returned to the regular series, but now there's speculation about an All Stars edition - with it rumoured that it could air next year.
It comes ahead of the revived Love Island celebrating its tenth series later this summer, with the current winter edition of the dating show its ninth series overall.
A source has told the The Sun : "The plan would be to invite some of the sexiest and most successful former islanders to see if they can find love for a second time around."
They added that the potential All Stars edition is now in development and further commented that ITV thinks that there is an "appetite for the concept" among fans.
It's been suggested that there are a few former islanders already on the wish list, including Maura Higgins, 32 - who had reached the final on the fifth series back in 2019.
The source said that ITV are also likely to want to sign up Kady McDermott, 27, and Sophie Piper, 24. Kady was a finalist in 2016, whilst Sophie was on the show in 2020.
And it's suggested that Kem Cetinay, 26 - who won Love Island back in 2018 - and former finalist Scott Thomas, 34 - who was a contestant in 2016 - are on the wish list too.
The source however said that ITV are waiting to see how the upcoming All Stars edition of I'm A Celebrity is received before progressing with a similar version of Love Island.
The special instalment of the jungle-based show is set to air later this year and will see former contestants from the past two decades become campmates in South Africa.
Discussing the impact it could have on a special Love Island, the source said: "They will be watching very closely how the public and fans react and will be taking down notes."
ITV have been approached for comment.
The latest series of Love Island continues on Monday night (February 20) on ITV2 and ITVX from 9pm. You can catch up on previous episodes through ITVX now.
