Love Island awkward 'editing fails' eagle eyed fans spotted during the latest series

Love Island viewers are probably well aware that the ITV2 reality show is edited, with only a few scenes shown from throughout each day and not necessarily in their entirety.

Over the years, islanders have discussed their experiences, like Olivia Attwood - who recently joked producers were responsible for a fan's perception that all she did was 'scream and shout'.

More recently, Jazmine Nichol - who had been part of Casa Amor in the latest series - claimed she had clashed with Coco Lodge in the villa but said the drama didn't air.

There however has appeared to be issues with scenes that have ended up getting aired, with fans having spotted a couple of 'editing fails' on the ITV show in recent weeks.

Double Dami

Dami was seen in 'two places at once' during a scene (ITV)

Viewers noted last month that Dami Hope appeared in two places at once during a scene in the villa, which saw a couple of islanders standing around the firepit talking.

Dami was seen among the rest of the boys at the firepit - including Andrew Le Page and Luca Bish - as they discussed that evening's recoupling with Jay Younger.

It looked like Dami was in the background of the same shot though - heading towards the kitchen with Indiyah Polack and other islanders - which fans felt was an editing error.

One viewer tweeted: "Why [is] Dami in two places at once? He's clearly at the fire pit, and clearly walking away with Indiyah? Why edit this together? Doesn't make sense."

Outfit switch

Another apparent editing blunder involved Gemma Owen, with fans pointing out that she was seen in two different outfits within the space of a few minutes in an episode.

Gemma was seen in a white dress as she headed towards one of the outdoor sofas with Luca in a scene that aired last month, seemingly to discuss her ex Jacques O'Neill.

However, just moments after she was seen sitting down, Gemma appeared to suddenly be wearing a bodysuit and trousers - but her co-stars didn't seem to've got changed.

"Did anyone else notice Gemma's outfit went from Cargos to a dress then back to cargos again? Glitch in the matrix or what?" tweeted one fan after the broadcast of the scene.

Casa Amor mix-up

A mix-up of names in Casa Amor has also been reported by fans (ITV)

It has also been reported that viewers noticed another blunder whilst the girls were at Casa Amor, with the names of four islanders seemingly mixed-up by the ITV production.

The apparent issue came when the girls settled into bed for their first night alongside the new boys - with their names put up on screen so fans knew who was sleeping where.

According to the Sun though, fans noticed that some names had been incorrectly assigned - with Danica Taylor and Deji Adeniyi mixed up with Gemma and Josh Le Grove.

Sharing what they had noticed in the scene, one fan tweeted: "I can be quite oblivious to editing sometimes but I noticed that they mixed up Josh / Gemma and Danica / Deji."

Preview 'spoiler'

Fans are said to have figured out Dami and Summer had been saved from a recent dumping after a preview clip was released (ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

There has also been some criticism of the editing after the outcome of a dumping was "ruined" by producers through a preview of a recent episode, according to MyLondon.

The preview clip is said to have shown Dami and Summer Botwe in the villa, despite viewers having not yet found out whether the pair had been saved from being dumped.

Fans didn't yet know that it was Jay and Chyna who had been dumped (ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

It suggested that Jay and Chyna Mills had been chosen to be dumped by their fellow islanders - which proved to be the case when the previewed episode was later broadcast.

Responding to it, one viewer said: "Producers need to fix their editing - seeing Dami in the preview of the episode before the revealing of which couple is leaving."

The Mirror approached ITV for comment.

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 and ITV Hub from 9pm. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
