Love Island 2023: Who are the new couples after the first recoupling?

One boy has left the villa and there are six new pairings following the first recoupling of the 2023 winter series of Love Island. David was sent home after the islanders were asked to gather around the firepit for the event.

The islanders received a text to say the girls would be choosing who to couple up with during the episode on Friday, January 20.

At the time there were seven boys and six girls with farmer Will the only single person from the original line up after bombshell Tom stole Olivia from him. There were also new bombshells in the mix, Zara and David.

Reacting to the news of the recoupling, Will says: "I’m not even being funny I’m sh*tting it”. Shaq, who isn’t sure who his current partner Tanya will pick, replies: My heart is racing.”

And the recoupling brought plenty of drama - as well as David being sent home, Lana and Ron were torn apart just hours after sharing their first kiss. You can read more about the first recoupling here.

The original couples were: Tanya & Shaq; Anna-May & Haris; Lana & Ron; Tanyel & Kai and Olivia & Tom - with Will left single after bombshell Tom chose Olivia.
