Love Island kicked off last night [Monday, January 16] with 10 new contestants, one bombshell and new presenter Maya Jama. The launch show saw the new cast members meet for the first time in a coupling up ceremony at the new luxury villa in South Africa.
After a couple of awkward steals, the episode ended with five confirmed couples. Tanya and Shaq, Anna-May and Haris, Lana and Ron, Tanyel and Kai and Will and Olivia. You can read more about the new couples here.
However, Maya revealed at the end of the episode that bombshell Tom would have the option to pick whichever girl he chooses, ruffling feathers just one episode in. However, despite the drama many took to Twitter to share their fury after a number of glitches on ITV2 and the streaming service ITVX made their viewing less enjoyable.

"Producers why is my TV glitching so much during the TEA?!?!?" asked another, while a third commented: "Have Love Island not paid the electric bill cos why is the show glitching like this."
And a fourth wrote: "Is it just me whose tv is glitching like wtf is happening??? I wanna see the drama unfold."
"Nah is anyone else’s TV glitching because this is ruining everything for me," said another. Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
