Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson and former Love Island star Indiyah Polack are set to appear alongside Maya Jama on Love Island: Aftersun. The reality TV duo have been announced as the new hosts of the official Love Island podcast, Love Island: The Morning After, ahead of the show's return on Monday, January 16.
The ninth series of Love Island, and the show's second winter edition, will kick off at the beginning of next week, with Bristolian babe Maya Jama as host. The former Cotham School student, 28, is set to make her debut on Monday night after Laura Whitmore broke the news that she would be leaving the show after the eighth series wrapped up last summer.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Sam, 30, wrote: "Today… a young, Love Island super fans dreams all came true. ou’re looking at the HOSTS of the OFFICIAL LOVE ISLAND PODCAST BABY!!!"
Sam continued: "Not only that, but I will be a regular feature on Aftersun alongside @mayajama and the absolute legend that is @IndiyahHP! I’ve never been so excited in my life!!!!!!!
"Bring on the tears, the tantrums, and the drama… I’m ready for it baby!!! Most importantly, I am so grateful to the Love Island team for this incredible opportunity.
"I watched this show for years from my sofa with a magnum every night, and I never imagined I would actually be a part of the Love Island family. This is going to be one hell of a ride!!"
Sam's girlfriend, Zara McDermott, found fame on Love Island series four after working for the Department of Education as a policy advisor. According to ITV, Sam and Indiyah will be sharing their thoughts on the 'latest couplings, dumpings and bombshell antics' in the South African villa in addition to interviewing the star's of the series.
The pair will join Maya in London every Sunday night for Love Island: Aftersun to discuss the latest happenings inside the villa. Ahead of his exciting new role, Sam said: "It feels like I'm with my family and we're all in it together, and I really like it. We're all massive fans of the show and it's really, really nice."
Indiyah, who finished third in the eighth series of the show alongside boyfriend Dami Hope, said: "I genuinely can't explain how excited I am. I can't wait to speak to the Islanders and get all the cheeky goss from their friends and families. It's gonna be an insane series, I can't wait."
