Love Island has announced a savage twist ahead of the 2023 final which takes place on Monday, March 13. With the baby episode out of the way that just leaves room for the final dates and the meet the parents instalment which usually occur in the last few days of each series.
And in a first look at the episode set to air on Thursday, March 9, the couples head out on their final dates, only this time there's a major twist. In scenes that will broadcast tonight, the Islanders awake to an unexpected text with news for all of the couples.
Receiving the message, Samie Elishi reads out: "Islanders, the time has come for each of you to go on your final date! #ADateToRemember," before Shaq Muhammad adds: "You just know the final dates are going to be amazing."

However, as the couples all excitedly discuss the upcoming dates, they are quickly shocked by a follow-up message informing them of an important decision they all need to make whilst on their dates.
It is then revealed, in a Love Island first, that the Islanders will have to vote for their least compatible couple while on their dates. The savage twist means the pairs with the most votes are vulnerable and at risk of being dumped.
Later Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins are treated to a magical breakfast, which sees them floating on water. Talk turns to how much they both want to meet each other's families. Ron tells Lana: "My mum will adore you," before the pair have to focus on voting.
Next up it's Samie and Tom Clare. Arriving in style for their epic date, Tom drives them in a classic red Ferrari.
They are treated to a private mountainside restaurant located in the middle of a lake and decorated with red rose petals, with a harpist to serenade them. As the date gets underway Tom has something big he wants to tell Samie, she replies: "You've left me a bit speechless now."
As the date draws to a close they too must ponder who is the least compatible in the villa. As night falls, Shaq and Tanya Mahenga are invited to a date underneath the stars, and both dress to impress.
When Shaq and Tanya reach their date they are greeted by a string quartet within a rose and candle-lit location. The last dates come ahead of the Love Island final which will take place at 9pm on Monday, March 13.
