Just four days after the launch of the winter 2023 series of Love Island, one of the line up has already been sent home after the first recoupling. Bombshell David was sent packing from the villa after being left the only boy without a partner.
But it was Tanyel's decision to pick Ron, just hours after he had shared his first kiss with Lana and told her that he was fully invested in her, that sent the biggest shockwaves through the villa.
The islanders had received a text to say the girls would be choosing who to couple up with. And after Swansea's Anna-May chose Kai, who was previously with Tanyel, she went on to pick Ron as Lana looked on visibly upset.

Fans tooked to Twitter to vent their frustration. One said: "Why did Tanyel do that? Bad vibes babe." A second said: "Tanyel is wicked brooooo." Another pointed out: "Tanyel is saying she feels bad but she really could’ve picked David or Will as a friendship couple."
A fourth tweeted: "'I feel so bad' no you f***ing don’t Tanyel. Poor Lana." And: "Tanyel knew what she was doing when she picked Ron."
The shake-up has led to the following new couplings: Anna-May & Kai; Zara & Tom; Olivia & Haris, Tanya & Shaq; Tanyel & Ron and Lana and Will.
Swansea's Anna-May was the first girl to pick and she chose Kai, who had been with Tanyel and she didn't appear surprised saying: "I knew that would happen." After Zara picked Tom, Olivia chose Haris, and said: "I like the fun playful side he brings out in me. I look forward to seeing if there's a connection."
Despite being torn between Shaq and David, Tanya decided to stick with Shaq saying: "Not only has he told me that he likes me and showed me and put all his eggs in one basket he's good looking confident and funny."
Following Tanyel's decision, Lana was left to decide between Will and David and picked Will saying: "This decision is s*** but this guy has shown me a lot of attention and is always funny. The boy I would like to couple up with is Will."
While David has now been sent home, the new couples look set to be shaken up again soon as two new bombshells are now heading into the villa.
