Davide Sanclimenti believes English women "love" him but admitted he is "picky" when it comes to dating as he prepares to enter Love Island this summer.
The 27-year-old business owner based in Manchester - originally from Rome, Italy - is among the select group of singletons to head to the new villa in Mallorca for the eighth series of the popular ITV2 show, which returns to our screens on Monday June 6 at 9pm.
The self-proclaimed "Italian stallion" says he has a "good heart" and is "a very deep person" as he looks for a meaningful relationship on the Spanish island and can't wait to get stuck into the action.
Speaking ahead of the series, he said: "I’m going to be the Italian stallion in the villa! With my Italian charm, I can also be a very romantic guy.
"I’m good looking and I’ve realised since I first arrived in Manchester, a lot of English girls actually love me. They love to be around me and I love to be around them.
"It’s going to be fun, I’m looking forward to it."
Davide said he has done "romantic stuff" in the past during previous relationships so why is he still single?
"I am very picky," he said. "It’s difficult to find someone that I really fancy but when I do, I become really close with the person.
"I am a relationship kind of guy, I prefer to be in a relationship but at the same time I don’t do a lot of dates," the Italian added.
"It takes me a while but the interest, I show interest very quickly."
He plans to make the most of his opportunity in the villa in his quest to find his "soulmate".
Davide said: "I’m 27 now, I’m getting serious about my life and my goals. My biggest dream is to find someone I can spend the rest of my life with.
He added: "I want to find my soulmate, find my person so I can actually build something in the future, grow with them, be a family."
*Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 6th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
