Love Island season is finally here and 11 contestants have entered this year's brand new villa for a summer of love. The new season, which is the show's eighth series, kicked off on Monday, June 6 .
Among those taking part is Swansea paramedic Paige Thorne, student Liam Llewellyn from Newport, and international dressage rider Gemma Owen, who is the daughter of football legend Michael Owen. This year's first bombshell has also been announced as business owner Davide Sanclimenti from Rome.
The launch episode saw a major plot twist to the Love Island format, with the public choosing which Islanders should couple up. However, the change did not go down well with viewers, with many complaining about it. You can read more on this here.

Age also became a talking factor among viewers during the first instalment when Gemma revealed she was 19 years old. Many ITV2 viewers watching at home said they "felt old" " as they tuned in at 9pm.
