Netflix has confirmed they will be launching a UK version of popular dating show Love Is Blind and the auditions are now open for potential candidates.
The first three series currently on the streaming service were filmed in the USA, but yesterday they confirmed a UK version is in the pipeline.
Netflix took to Twitter to announce the exciting news.
They wrote: "Big news: Love Is Blind is coming to the UK!".
Included in the tweet was a link to the audition form and filming for the series is set to take place in July this year.
There's a few rules you must know before you apply:
- Candidates must be 18 years or older.
- You must not currently work or have worked for CPL Productions or any affiliate, or Netflix or be a live-in partner or immediate relative (e.g. mother, father, son, daughter, brother or sister) of an employee of CPL Productions or any affiliate or Netflix.
- You must hold a valid passport for the whole period of filming if selected and have the right to be able to travel to all locations as we specify.
- You have the right to reside in the UK
The reality TV show is based on a social experiment which looks at different singletons who are on the hunt to find true love in the most bizarre way.
It's hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey and they arrange a serious of dates (think blind speed dating) between the contestants who spend time with a range of different people for 10 days with a partition between them, and only decide if they like them based on their conversations.
Each couple will only get to meet face to face once someone has asked the other for their hand in marriage and soon after they jet off on holiday, move in together and plan a wedding in 30 days. But is love blind? Does anyone actually say I do or does anyone say I do not?
The series first premiered in February 2020 on Netflix and became a hit during the Covid lockdown that started a month later.
It is unknown who will be the hosts for the UK version.
