Love Actually star left penniless in care home after friend steals her life savings

An actress, who starred in Doctor Who and Love Actually, had to wear clothes from dead residents at her care home after she was left penniless when her friend stole her life savings.

Meg Wynn Owen, 82, whose real name was Margaret Wright, had to have her hair cut by staff and couldn't afford to buy clothes after conman Brian Malam, 60, swindled £65,000 from her accounts.

Costume designer Brian had been placed in charge on Meg's finances back in 2014 due to her declining health as she suffered dementia.
