Louisville point guard Hailey Van Lith is expected to enter the transfer portal, On3’s Jamie Shaw reports. The junior and former top 10 recruit has two years of eligibility remaining.
Van Lith has spent her first three collegiate years with Louisville, playing in 101 games and averaging 15.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in that span. She was a star of the 2022 NCAA women’s tournament, as the Cardinals made the Final Four as a one seed and Van Lith was named her region’s Most Outstanding Player.
This past season was Van Lith’s best, as she averaged a career-high 19.7 points in 37 games. However, the Cardinals fell to Iowa in the Elite Eight of this year’s NCAA tournament.
Louisville head coach Jeff Walz confirmed the news to Jody Demling of Cardinal Authority.
“We thank Hailey for her contributions to this program, this school, and this community,” Walz said. “She has done everything we have asked of her over the past three years, and we wish her the very best in her final collegiate season and beyond.”
Van Lith will graduate in May with a business degree, and is considered a graduate transfer.
Besides her on-court play, Van Lith has established herself with NIL deals off the court. According to On3, she is in the top 10 among women’s college basketball players with her NIL earnings.
