Louis Vuitton has announced that its Cruise 2025 show will be held in Barcelona on May 23, marking the beginning of a significant partnership between the luxury brand and the Spanish city. The event will feature the latest collection by Nicolas Ghesquière, who has been the artistic director of women’s collections at Louis Vuitton since 2013.
Aside from the fashion show, a series of exhibitions, cultural activities, and educational programs are scheduled to take place, as reported by WWD. Following the show, Louis Vuitton plans to launch a City Guide for Barcelona and introduce educational initiatives to support the local creative community.
Moreover, Louis Vuitton will be hosting the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona from August 22 to October 27, a prominent sailing event set on the Mediterranean Coast. The CEO of Louis Vuitton, Pietro Beccari, highlighted the shared values and heritage between Barcelona and the luxury brand, with the collaboration aiming to celebrate creativity and design within the city.
The event lineup includes preliminary regattas, the Youth & Puig Women’s America’s Cup, and the main attractions: the Louis Vuitton Cup and the 37th Louis Vuitton America’s Cup. Louis Vuitton's historical ties with Barcelona, dating back to its involvement in the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition and the opening of its first Spanish store in 1987, add depth to this collaboration, according to WWD.
The specific venue for the Cruise 2025 show has not yet been disclosed, continuing the tradition of selecting distinctive and iconic locations for these events.
