Louis Theroux is reportedly tipped to sign a huge deal with Netflix after the success of his Inside the Manosphere documentary - and may even film a follow-up to the original.
Inside The Manosphere shows Theroux interviewing several social media influencers and podcasters who are at the forefront of a toxic cultural movement targeting young men with extreme misogynistic, homophobic, antisemitic and racist views online.
He met with controversial figures like Myron Gaines, who wants “multiple wives” and thinks men should be “dictators”, and HSTikkyTokky, who aired shocking homophobic views in the film.
The documentary, which dropped on March 11, was watched by four million viewers in the UK in its first seven days and was number one in the film category.
Now, the streaming giant is said to be “clamouring” to create more shows with Theroux, in what would be a “blow” to his longtime employer, the BBC.
“This is going to make very uncomfortable viewing for the BCC, as they've already had to watch him front his first documentary that wasn't for the corporation,” a source told The Sun.
The insider went on: “Now Netflix will be clamouring for more shows from him, which may even include another visit into the manosphere, after all, he won't be short of subject matter.
“Although he's likely to be able to pick whatever subjects he wants to explore, and Louis has always had a broad spectrum of interests, from the world of celebrities to serious politics.”
The Standard has contacted Theroux’s representatives for comment.
The filmmaker has faced backlash from a number of the figures he interviewed from the show since it aired.
Manosphere influencer Amrou Fudl, aka Myron Gaines, hit out at Theroux after he was seemingly dumped by his girlfriend Angie, following Theroux’s questioning of his plan to have “multiple wives”.
The 36-year-old, who has written a book called Why Women Deserve Less, also hosts a Red Pill Wednesday segment where he gives dating advice which follows the belief that men should be “dictators” and women should be their “subordinates”.

In Inside The Manosphere, Theroux asked Gaines to describe his “one-way monogamous” relationship with Angie.
“I do what the f**k I want to do, she's loyal to me, it's monogamous on her end and open on my end,” the influencer had previously said on his podcast.
“She packs my f**king condoms when I travel, that's how real it is.”
Theroux asked: “Do you have a rotation of other women?” to which Gaines replied: “I wouldn't say a rotation right now, I do want to get multiple wives, but right now, I'm just focusing on building things up, this year especially.”
Theroux then asked Angie for her take on Gaines’ dalliances with other women.
"The women that he sleeps with, he's just going to be with them for like, a night," she said.
When asked about the prospect being one of Gaines' multiple wives in the future, she admitted: "I don't know how that will work."
Gaines then told her to go to another room and she left. After her departure, Theroux claimed she seemed “sad” about their arrangement - which Gaines quickly dismissed.
At the end of the film, viewers learned the couple had split.
Gaines blasted the “woke” documentary on X last week, claiming it was “pushing a clear agenda” and called Theroux a “coward”.
