Louis Theroux just left a lengthy book review of his own book - and it was iconic.

The British-American journalist and documentary filmmaker took to Amazon to pen his review of his latest book, Theroux The Keyhole.

According to Amazon, the book features a “heartwarming” diary that details the “weirdness of family life in Covid world.” Theroux also talks about his podcast Grounded and his documentary with the Tiger King himself, Joe Exotic.

If you wanted to know if the book is worth a buy, Theroux has the answer.

In his review, which he shared on Instagram, he wrote that the book gets a “thumbs up” and that he “loved writing it.”

“It’s a light look at a heavy subject: the experience of the pandemic, and lockdown, and other forms of vitality, as they left their mark on a family of five in north west London in 2020/21,” Theroux wrote.

He also wrote that the original diary was “150,000 words or more,” but he condensed it and “shaped it” so the manuscript is at around “80,000 or so” words.

“I tried to give it an arc, so you can read it from beginning to end.”

Theroux further wrote that the book is not “just entries,” and concluded with the following: “It gets a thumbs up from me, Hope you do too.”

Naturally, fans found this amusing, with one writing, “I find that very helpful.”

“My current read so far; thoroughly enjoying it,” someone wrote.

“Just going Theroux your work with a critical eye. Nothing wrong with that,” someone else wrote, making a pun.

“Yay for some scene setting, direct speech and concrete detail. This reads like a crash course in writing a book actually, Louis! With the arc and all,” wrote a third.

Theroux The Keyhole: Diaries of a Grounded Documentary Maker was released on November 11.
