Louis Saha claims Manchester United 'can be a threat' to Man City and Liverpool FC this season

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has predicted Erik ten Hag's side could finish third in the Premier League this season, but will struggle to compete with bitter rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.

New manager Ten Hag has brought in three players this summer in Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, with a few more hopefully coming through the door before the window closes.

Whilst Saha is seemingly confident about United's chances this upcoming season, he feels both City and Liverpool may prove too much for United to compete with, but he does believe Ten Hag's men could cause the top two some problems.

"From what I've seen they can be a threat for Man City and Liverpool early doors but from what we've seen I've seen some signs that they can beat anybody, they can defend against any opposition," Saha told the Manchester Evening News , with Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey

"If they have the right attitude, the right confidence, yes, they can score goals against any side that's for sure. I'm realistic on whether they can be on that top four, I may not be realistic in terms of being top spot, but in some way I think Haaland is the new Lewandowski in some way and the way Guardiola is playing over the years he has proven that he is going to be in the position. So yes, United can be the third club in this ranking."
