A multi-use music and events space in St Judes has announced a new bar space that is set to become Bristol’s newest after-work cocktail spot.
Headed up by the team behind Shangri-La, one of the most popular areas at the legendary Glastonbury Festival, Bristol-based Lost Horizon has hosted many incredible events since its opening. The venue, which claims to be the "world's largest" virtual reality music and arts space, has now announced another exciting addition.
Lost Horizon will be opening 'The Courtyard' bar space in April, serving a full drinks and cocktail menu as well as a selection of local brews from Arbor Ales for beer lovers. Customers can also enjoy a range of street food vendors, DJs and live music adding another dimension to the space, as well as VR (virtual reality) activities, table football, ping-pong, ShangrilART exhibitions and more.

Food will be provided by some of Bristol’s finest street food vendors on rotation including slow cooked and smoked locally sourced produce from Big Nathan’s BBQ, fresh, protein-packed rice bowls by Loki Poké, tastebud-tingling wood fired pizza from Slice One, Caribbean Tex Mex fusion from Tubby’s Corner, and organic, ethical and unrefined recipes by Good For Bellie, with more to be announced.
As summer gets closer, Lost Horizon will also be partnering with Ibiza’s iconic Back to Mine record label series for a number of events in The Courtyard, and will also be hosting midweek events with high profile folk and acoustic acts in the 225-capacity outdoor space. The venue is especially excited to welcome Junior Jungle for family dance-offs, ShangrilART Markets featuring Bristol artists including Inkie, Kuldesac, and Britta Glass, as well as a monthly Stussy Deadstock Sale with food, cocktails and some of Bristol’s finest DJs.
Adding more fun to the new space will be Shall Not Fade, Bristol's newest record store, which will be bringing day parties showcasing cutting edge house, garage and bass, and there will be Rock 'n' Roll Bingo, Ballad’Okie and weekly comedy events, from the likes of Chuckle Busters and C U Next Wednesday slotting into the regular event routine.
The Courtyard opens on Wednesday, April 13 and will be open 5pm-11pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and midday-11pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Updates and full line-ups can be found on its website as well as tickets for the events schedule.
