The Los Angeles Lakers have announced plans to honor former coach Pat Riley with a statue outside their downtown arena. Riley, a key figure in the Lakers' storied history, led the team to four championships during the 1980s 'Showtime' era.
Riley's ties to the Lakers run deep, having also won championship rings with the team as a player and an assistant coach. His impact on the franchise was profound, with his coaching tenure marked by exceptional success and a distinctive style of play.
