A lorry has been left stranded after toppling into a verge at side of the A99. The incident took place around 7am today, north of the village of Lybster in Caithness in the Highlands.
Photos taken at the crash site, which were shared on social media, show the truck at a dangerous angle, seemingly having veered into the grassy verge while navigating a sharp bend.
The motor has landed on its side, and seems to have been abandoned. A blue-lit police van can be seen alongside the lorry, with several uniformed officers standing guard.
It is unclear how many people were travelling in the lorry at the time of the incident. It is understood no one required treatment as a result of the crash.
Although the road appears to remain open, Police Scotland confirmed arrangements are underway for recovery, which may lead to a partial blocking of the A99.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 7am this morning, police received a report of a one-vehicle road crash on the A99 Occumster, near Lybster.
"There are no reports of any injuries and arrangements are being made to uplift lorry."
