Lorry driver pulled over on the M1 as 'gravity alone' kept car on the back

A truck driver was pulled over by police on the M1 for appearing to carry an unstrapped car on the back of their vehicle.

The motorist, accused of carrying an 'insecure load', was said to be "relying on gravity alone" to keep the car secure, the Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit (RPU) said in a tweet.

They added that the driver could be prosecuted.

The force shared an image of the truck on Twitter, showing the white car seemingly unstrapped as it sits in the back.

In the tweet, Derbyshire RPU said: "Driver of this lorry relying on gravity alone to keep this car secure."
