Lorraine viewers split over ITV show replacement as presenter takes 'summer holiday'

ITV viewers have been complaining about Scottish television presenter Lorraine Kelly's lack of airtime, as she heads off on her summer holidays.

The 62-year-old announced on her self-titled show last week that she would be off on her travels on Monday, July 25 as two fellow ITV presenters would fill in for her on the programme. Ranvir Singh and Christine Lampard will be taking it in turns to cover Lorraine on the show over the next few weeks, with Ranvir hosting the show this morning.

Fans flocked to social media to have a gab about Lorraine's absence on the show, and discuss her new replacement. One Twitter user wrote: "Oh what a surprise! Lorraine Kelly not presenting her own TV show in the school half term. Can someone explain to me exactly how she gets away with this even though her own kids are grown up and in their 20s? #Lorraine."

Another said: "Switch on to catch Lorraine but no Lorraine no Christine no Carol."

And a third wrote: "The Non-Lorraine #Lorraine Show , it’s all going a bit Jeremy Vine."

More comments read: "#lorraine Ranvir seems to love the sound of her own voice. She’s so loud! And with Bill Bailey she kept cutting him off and answering his questions for him! I don’t want to be nasty, but please calm down and stop interrupting your guests."

And others commented: "@lorraine Ranvir please stop for breath, who is interviewing who? Give him a chance. You talk too much. Too much noise KMT."

Finally, one concluded: "No Lorraine on her show this morning? Typical."

Ranvir will continue to host Lorraine this week, with the next episode airing on Tuesday, July 26 at 9am on ITV. Episodes are available for catch up on the ITV Hub.
